Five Years Off, A Collapsed Lung and Now Stronger Than Ever

Lloyd joined CTPT when he reached a point where he no longer recognised the version of himself he had become.

A dad to a 3-year-old, working long and demanding days in construction, he felt unfit, unhappy, and stuck. He didn’t want to be the older, out-of-shape dad who couldn’t keep up with his son — and after dealing with a collapsed lung, not training for five years, drinking too much and struggling with depression, he knew he needed something to pull him forward.

He needed a focus.

A reason to get healthier.

A place to rebuild physically and mentally.

That first step wasn’t easy — and he’ll admit it.

Starting again is hard.

But as he showed up and committed to small, consistent actions, everything began to change.

With every session, his body got stronger, and with every bit of progress, his mental health improved too.

Now, Lloyd is fitter, more confident, and far more in control of his life.

He loves the mix of people at CTPT — the variety, the encouragement, the feeling that everyone belongs.

He’s become a key part of the community, a dad who leads by example, and someone who inspires others simply by showing what’s possible when you decide enough is enough.

Lloyd isn’t just improving for himself — he’s becoming the dad he always wanted to be.

“Strength, Purpose, Progress.”

“I hadn’t trained for 5 years. I was drinking too much, depressed, and didn’t feel like myself at all. I didn’t want to be the unfit dad who couldn’t keep up. Starting was hard — but it got easier, and as my physical health improved, so did my mental health. CTPT has such a great mix of people, and it’s helped me get my life back in so many ways.”
